Packing and Blogging

Hmmmm, I'm not sure if I'm ready to start this blog yet, considering we are preparing our family for an out-of-state move. Yes, we are headed back to Oregon after (almost) three years in the Central Valley of California, serving His people in the little community of Easton (near Fresno). It sounds strange, as I read the previous line back to myself. We are headed back to Oregon...boy, are we going to miss this place. The last three years have been amazing for our kids, our ministry, our marriage, and we will never forget our time here. We will miss the fresh fruit, GRAPES!, nectarines, apricots, oranges, almonds, and everything else you could think of (except apples, really) available year round! Seventy degree days in December, Yosemite National Park, but most importantly, we will miss the people in our church body here at NewLife that we have come to love like family. They have been incredible and there's a part of me that wishes we could move them all up to Oregon with us. See, it is possible for Oregonians and Californians to love one another. :) But as sad as we are to leave here, we are so excited to be moving home to Hillsboro. Being near family once again is an answer to prayer and we are thrilled that the girls get to grow up around their grandmas and grandpas, aunties and uncle, cousin, and future cousins. Pray for our journey in the coming days that we stay sane, reach our destination safely, and are able to enjoy the last few days down here with our dear friends. That's all for now!

It was great to have one last "game night" w/y'all last night... esp. since Aaron (downtown doody brown!) managed a win in Smarty Party!

You guys will be missed for so many reasons - here's hoping that all the holiday festivities won't screw up the packing too much.
